With his competing days behind him, Wyatt Marshall has settled into ranching life in Marietta, Montana. But with the Copper Mountain Rodeo, his only exception, just around the corner, the last thing he needs is a distraction – especially one in the form of a pretty, yet vaguely familiar country singer.
For Claire Miller, it's been almost a year since she fled Las Vegas with only her purse and the clothes on her back, and she's been laying low in Montana with a new image. When she and her country band travel to perform in the small town of Marietta, she doesn't plan on getting stranded there for several days. Or for an innocent offer to stay at a nearby ranch to turn out to be more than she bargained for: she recognizes its owner to be the same sexy cowboy she got hot and heavy with – then stood up – in Vegas.
With the passion flaring between them and Wyatt getting closer to putting the pieces together, Claire is ready to run again, not knowing the danger that sent her fleeing in the first place is close on her heels.
Thoroughly good read!45
Montana must be a beautiful place filled with kind people. Our heroine has endured significant abuse until she runs away at 17. Her young adult years are also challenging but she finds she is a talented singer able to support herself. A chance meeting with a cowboy two times results in a lovely romance45
Sinclair and Wyatt are the perfect characters with a very good storyline! Throw in the wicked witch Luanne and a vengeful mobster and you’ve got a great story! Romantic, sexy, and sweet!55
This is one of the best books I have read in a while. The plot was good, the characters we charming and fun. The sex scenes were not too explicit and the cover wasn’t embarrassing. I’d read anything that was written my this author.55
Loved the book, but really a bad job of editing.45
"Protect Me, Cowboy" (The 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo Book) by Shelli Stevens. This is Wyatt Marshall and Claire Miller's story. Wyatt and Claire (Sin) meet when he won first place in the tie-downing roping at the NFR in Vegas. They has interesting night but Claire (Sin) disappeared. Wyatt has not been able to forget her. Wyatt and Claire's paths cross again. Claire has changed her image so Wyatt doesn't recognize her at first. You will enjoy the banter between them. I really enjoyed Wyatt and Claire's story. This is a sweet story with intense chemistry between Wyatt and Claire. FYI, includes mature content. I received a copy of this book from Tule Publishing in exchange for an honest review.55
This was a great story. Claire and Wyatt were great main characters. I loved their chemistry and connection. Claire was determined to hide her past, including the brief encounter she had with Wyatt back in Vegas. But the truth always manages to come out. I really loved Wyatt and how he handled finding out the truth about Claire. And especially how he and his family handled things at the end. And I loved all of the secondary characters like Katie. I'm really enjoying this year's rodeo series.45
The rodeo has returned to Marietta, who doesn't love the cowboys!! Wyatt first met Claire in Vegas, a sizzling chemistry then but Claire disappeared that same night. Fast forward, Claire is on the run and has shown up in Marietta with no place to stay. Wyatt's sister offers her a cabin on the ranch, not knowing the Wyatt knows Claire. The sparks are still there and Claire soon needs her cowboy to protect her from her past. A fast paced story, loved Wyatt, pure cowboy and gentleman. I can't wait to hear more from this family. Highly recommend.45
I always love it when the rodeo returns to Marietta and this year is no different! :Protect Me, Cowboy is a wonderful story of a young woman looking to start over after escaping a bad situation and a cowboy who recently return to help run the family ranch. Claire and Wyatt are great together and you just know he'll do whatever he needs to do to keep her safe if she can just put her trust in him. Will his love keep her from running again? You definitely want to read this one and find out. I highly recommend it.45
