She’s a baker without a kitchen. He’s got a double oven to spare. It’s a recipe for success, until his mother starts stirring up trouble …
Cassie Jordan has a sweet dream to open a bakery specializing in wedding cakes. The problem is, the Airstream trailer where she lives has a kitchen the size of a postage stamp, and her job as housekeeper for a vacation rental agency doesn’t pay enough for her to find other arrangements.
When the renters at one of the houses in her care cancel their stay, leaving the house empty and its top-of-the-line kitchen unused, who could blame her for seeing it as an opportunity? But Cassie’s unsavory plan starts to look like a mistake when the owner’s son shows up unannounced, catching her with her pants down—literally.
If Cassie can sweet-talk her way out of trouble, setting up her business might be a piece of cake. If not, it’s going to be a bitter setback …
The Icing on the Cake is a stand-alone installment in Linda Seed’s Otter Bluff series of small-town romances.
This story made me smile, laugh, cry, and fill my heart with warmth. I lost some sleep reading this story because I had trouble putting it down. I still think it is hilarious and mortifying with how Cassie and Brian first met. Will Brian’s mom change her ways and be the mom Brian needs or will she cause havoc again in Brian’s life? I only wish I could’ve tasted Cassie’s confectionery creations.55
Wonderful characters that are so life like that you feel like you are in the story! Great world building that keeps you in the moment.55
Good clean yet romantic book55
I thought it was slow and boring. I just skipped through it.25
Fun story with real people and anxieties.45
I enjoyed the different plot line, incorporating the current social media, technology of society. However, I do prefer the intimacy to be graphic. 🤷🏻♀️45
Excellent story! Great read, could not put it down.55
Sweet, funny, and sad at times, this romance takes you through all the feelings and is well worth the read.55
First time reading this author. Enjoyed the story and the characters. A good writer whose story didn’t focus on bedroom scenes or bad language. I would read her again.45
Pretty typical ending. But an easy fun read. Would love to read the others Linda Sees has written55
