Characters had no chemistry and the story was drawn out on every plot line ruining any sense of finely timed pace. This was the most boring romance novel I’ve ever read.15
There isn’t a better way to while away a few hours than with a book like this one. Grace Burrowes is a remarkably gifted story teller, and this is one of her best. The characters (primary and secondary) are well rounded, sympathetic and interesting, the plots are twisty and fun — and funny. She sets the scene well without being bogged down by minutiae. The romance is, well, romantic and never feels awkward or forced. I do love a compassionate hero and a heroine who knows her own mind. This is one of my favorites.55
