Jamie Glowacki—potty-training expert, Pied Piper of Poop, and author of the popular guide, Oh Crap! Potty Training—shares her proven 6-step plan to help you toilet train your preschooler quickly and successfully.
Worried about potty training? Let Jamie Glowacki, potty-training expert, show you how it’s done. Her 6-step, proven process to get your toddler out of diapers and onto the toilet has already worked for tens of thousands of kids and their parents. Here’s the good news: your child is probably ready to be potty trained EARLIER than you think (ideally, between 20–30 months), and it can be done FASTER than you expect (most kids get the basics in a few days—but Jamie’s got you covered even if it takes a little longer). If you’ve ever said to yourself:
** How do I know if my kid is ready?
** Why won’t my child poop in the potty?
** How do I avoid “potty power struggles”?
** How can I get their daycare provider on board?
** My kid was doing so well—why is he regressing?
** And what about nighttime?!
Oh Crap! Potty Training can solve all of these (and other) common issues. This isn’t theory, you’re not bribing with candy, and there are no gimmicks. This is real-world, from-the-trenches potty training information—all the questions and all the ANSWERS you need to do it once and be done with diapers for good.
This book is everything! Tells you where to start, addresses all dilemmas you might have and gives solutions to them. The biggest thing that got me through was it validates your feelings. Potty training was rough the first week and got me to the point of tears but this book encourages you to push through and not give up and I’m so glad I didn’t. Buy this book and really read through it and reference back during the process and you won’t be disappointed.55
When someone suggested this book to me, I thought “I’m not reading a book on potty training my kid, c’mon.” But THIS BOOK!! I successfully trained my son at 28 months with it. He was going on his own the second day! Do yourself a favor and read it before you start potty training! I tried training him once before and didn’t realize how wrong I was going about it. The methods in the book take the pressure off with no bribes, rewards, timers. Potty training is never easy, but this helps so much. I don’t know how it would have gone had I not read this.55
I studied this book. Dove right in to potty training when my son was 29 weeks. Stripped him naked waited from some sort of peeing "sign". Nothing and all of the sudden he peed put him on the pot and he stopped did this for three days and no progress. I kid you not there was no sign for peeing with my son. As for #2 yes but the second I caught him put him on the potty he stopped and refused to even try until I gave up. I was defeated and depressed. So I sat and waited a couple of months until I knew he was ready. Took him to the potty every 15 with a pull up on and now he just gets it. Hes almost 3 and got it outside the designated timeframe the author suggested. I wish I can get my money back.15
I had a few attempts to potty training the last one was during the month of September 2017. To say that it was a disaster is an understatement. At that time I was so frustrated that I wasn’t sure if my daughter was ready or not. Feeling completely lost I decided that I needed a roadmap to this potty training business and while reading an article online I came across this book. I decided to go ahead an buy. At that point I didn’t had anything to lose, and a lot to gain. When I started reading this book there were many thing that I didn’t thought about when I tried previous times. I recommend this book to any mom/parent that is as lost as I was. I read the book in couple of days, it is a super easy reading and writen in plain, common sense language. I waited couple of weeks and went back at it. This last time I knew exactly what to look for, and it was a better experience. I still got frustrated on the second day but I kept at it. Today is the 12th day since I started potty training and I can proudly say that she is fully potty trained. It takes time but if you know your child is capable of doing it buy this book and go for it. Enjoy the process, you will feel so proud of your child. Enjoy the potty training journey.55
This books was a great easy read and gave me the extra boost in confidence (in myself and my son) to go for it. Very relatable and good ways of thinking for parents.55
