From the moment Lorenzo Valdez saved Angie Torres from being crushed by an angry mule, he knew she was trouble. Having rolled her out of harm's way, he can't deny that he is intrigued by the soft, delicate woman, especially when she races away without telling him her name.
Angie serves as a spy to the Texians, aiding them in the Texas Revolution. Her desire for the enemy soldier's arms around her goes against everything she has been fighting for. However, their fate is intertwined and they are forced to work together.
While Angie tries to protect her heart, Lorenzo must overcome his own demons. With the Texians on the verge of attacking San Antonio, Angie and Lorenzo have to fight not only for their right to love one another, but also for their lives and the future of Texas.
I enjoyed the story……but the constant bicker got to be a bit much. Angie and Lorenzo were obviously in love but they just didn’t listen to their hearts until the very end.45
A very interesting historical romance! Full of stubborn women and a very distrustful man, this story takes you through the fight to free San Antonio from Mexico.55
A historical romance that takes place in San Antonio Texas. Full of mystery and intrigue that will keep you turning the pages. Loved Angie and her sister, both strong headed women who are supplying food to the Texians. Lorenzo is a convict soldier. When Angie and Lorenzo meet, there is no denying the chemistry between them. Loved the banter between the two, had me laughing out loud. Looking forward to the next book in the series. I am not a big historical reader but I did enjoy the story.45
Texas Conquest (Texas Legacy Book 1) by Holly Castillo This is Lorenzo Valdez and Angie Torres' story. A historical romance with lots of mystery and twists and not knowing who can be trusted. I enjoyed Lorenzo and Angie's story and loved the banter and chemistry between Lorenzo and Angie. The supporting characters added to the story. The story was enjoyable but felt a little long. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.45
