"An intriguing story, engagingly told. Who would have thought a goblin could make such a compelling hero? Darkly Celtic, richly imagined, this is paranormal romance at its best." – Juliet Marillier, award-winning author of Daughter of the Forest
Once upon a time...
A man was cursed to the Shadowlands, his heart replaced with a cold lump of gold. In legends, he became known as the Goblin King.
For a favored few he will grant a wish. Yet, desperately clinging to his waning human soul, his own desire remains unfulfilled: a willing Queen.
But who would consent to move from the modern-day world into the realm of nightmares? No matter how intoxicating his touch, no matter how deep his valor, loving him is dangerous. And the one woman who might dare to try could also destroy him forever.
I was very happy to get this book and read!! If it was a movie I would watch it.55
Great read! Can't wait to read more of the series!55
I loved the story line. It kept me engaged the entire time, and I literally stayed up all night finishing the book. I'm about to buy the next book in the series because I simply must know what happens next. As someone who is currently working on writing my own e-book novella, I appreciate the love and effort this author (Shona Husk) put into her work!55
I was very excited to get this after reading The Summons teaser, but it's hard to lose yourself in a story when there are problems with subject/verb agreement and missing conjunctions. Please get a proofreader and re-release your stories Shona Husk!35
It was cheesey some parts but i could not stop reading til i found out what happened next!55
I could not stop reading it. Love it.55
I had read the first chapter to see if it was really as good as I hoped it would be after reading the summary and sure enough, I was even more compelled to read it after just the first chapter. Overall a great storyline, twists, and a climactic ending. I highly encourage anyone who hasn't, to read this!55
For a while now (close to a year) I'd been wanting to read this book. I've always loved myths and old legends, especially if curses, kings, and goblins are involved. Add to that my love of David Bowie as the Goblin King in "Labyrinth" and it was a must read. Once I got a hold of it, I couldn't put it down!!! Through fights with goblins, Roan's personal demons, and the curse growing stronger, Shona Husk had me hook line and sinker. Laced with old mythology and stories of Rome and the ancient Celtic people, I strongly recommend it for anyone who enjoys historical romance novels, mythology, and girl power stories where the bad guys get what's coming to them. Very much a modern day fairytale for the queen (or king as the case may be) in us all.55
A great storyline, and a plot to die for. The romance is taut and steamy, and the resolution hot as hell. The problems lie in the writing and minor character inconsistencies, as often happens with books that are too quickly passed from writing to publishing without a decent editor to point out flaws and engage the author in perfecting the manuscript. Altogether, it's a good read if you can be forgiving of the little problems.55
This book has everything you would want in a paranormal romance!!!! I swear you'll fall in love easy, great read!!! Grant your imagination a wish!!!55
