Love Does

Love Does Summary

Now a New York Times Bestseller!

As a college student he spent 16 days in the Pacific Ocean with five guys and a crate of canned meat. As a father he took his kids on a world tour to eat ice cream with heads of state. He made friends in Uganda, and they liked him so much he became the Ugandan consul. He pursued his wife for three years before she agreed to date him. His grades weren't good enough to get into law school, so he sat on a bench outside the Dean’s office for seven days until they finally let him enroll.

Bob Goff has become something of a legend, and his friends consider him the world's best-kept secret. Those same friends have long insisted he write a book. What follows are paradigm shifts, musings, and stories from one of the world’s most delightfully engaging and winsome people. What fuels his impact? Love. But it's not the kind of love that stops at thoughts and feelings. Bob's love takes action. Bob believes Love Does.

When Love Does, life gets interesting. Each day turns into a hilarious, whimsical, meaningful chance that makes faith simple and real. Each chapter is a story that forms a book, a life. And this is one life you don't want to miss.

Light and fun, unique and profound, the lessons drawn from Bob's life and attitude just might inspire you to be secretly incredible, too.

As good as it gets5 star

Bob Goff writes this book in a way that you can’t put it down, but also want to so you can get out and love in the same way that Jesus does. The experiences in this book are hard to overlook and real evidence of Jesus.55

Great!5 star

This book is awesome. Bob Goff not only has amazing and sometimes unbelievable stories, but in each story, he ties it into simply how Jesus loves us. Also simply how we should love others and do things for our friends, family, and even strangers under the right circumstances. This book brings so much joy and ultimately you will enjoy reading it and look forward to reading it.55

I’m a better person5 star

Thanks to this book I’ve become a better person. I’m not a man that plans much nor have I written down much about my past. I can relate to Bob’s son and Bob when they speak about just living. Go make memories and write them down when you’re almost all finished. Love is a powerful force and I intend to give more of it as a result of this book.55

The End of an Era5 star

I began reading this book as I was coming to a crossroads in my life. I am a divorcée, a single mother of four young girls, and as I started reading this book, I was engaged to a man who I had been in a relationship with for three years. As I was diving into my walk with God, I was feeling a pull away from my fiancé. As I read the first half of Love Does, I reflected on my last three years of life. Unconditional is absolutely an appropriate word for the Love I had for my fiancé but I began to recognize that it wasn’t reciprocated. My engagement has been called off. My heart is broken and his world feels shattered, but because of this book, I was able to approach the breakup through Jesus lenses and he is actively pursuing God as a result. He is searching for answers for what direction his life is supposed to be headed. We care for one another deeply and who knows, maybe one day our lives will circle back around to one another when we are both God-fearing and relentless in our pursuit of Christ.55

No words can express...5 star

No words can express how much this book has touched me! I started reading it this January as my inspirational book of the month so i read one chapter a day and thankfully there were 31 chapters in all so it worked out pretty well. I just finished it today January 31, 2018 and i can say there is no better book filled with wonderful REAL life stories and examples of how living out love is actually an active thing and not just a passive thing to talk about. I am so grateful I got this book and exactly when I did! I hope and pray to take the next step in my life knowing it’s God’s will i reach out to others in my life and around me. And to have fun while doing it! My mantra? Whimsy and Love Does! All the way! Thanks Bob Goff, you really have inspired me and at a time I really needed it. I am blessed indeed! 😊55
