Drafted first round pick when I was seventeen, playing first line at eighteen, branded NHL's bad boy at nineteen. At twenty-three I was cut from the team and living back home with my parents. A knock on the door brought an opportunity I couldn't turn down. All I had to do was prove I learned from my mistakes, so no way would I fall for a chick with a pouty mouth even if I wanted to spend all day devouring it.
When my father gave me a job, I had no idea it would be to babysit some washed up NHL player. He wanted me to be his chaperone, his overpaid babysitter. I thought it was a joke. Then I met him, Matthew Grant. I wasn't prepared for this particular bad boy. He's not only hot but he's arrogant and kinda sweet in a 'you make me crazy' kind of way.
Basically now that he's finished screwing up his life, he's decided to turn mine upside down.
She's the first thing I've ever wanted more than hockey.
He's the guy I know I should stay away from.
But what if this thing that started out so wrong turns into something so perfect?
It was perfect!! One of my favorites so far.55
This book might be good if it were edited. There are places where what seems to be necessary information is missing, and so many errors in speech and grammar.25
I have never read an entire book in one day, but I could not put this down!! I love the change in perspective between the characters Matthew and Karrie. Wonderfully written. CAPTIVATING. STEAMY. PERFECTION.55
Great book. Hard not to want to read in all at once. Can’t wait to read more. Thank You!55
This reminds me more of an abusive relationship than a romance novel, I felt uncomfortable reading it and had to stop.15
I love this book. It was funny and heart-warming. It was one of the most real books I’ve ever read! Going to read another one by this author!55
Matthew is all grown up and has hit his rock bottom. After being drafted 1st round in the NHL draft at only 17 and quickly rising to star Matthew let success and fame get to his head and now only 2 years later he is back home hoping for another shot at doing what he loves which he gets only with a stipulation. He must have a chaperone if he wants his chance. His chaperone comes in the form of Kallie the daughter of the teams owner. Sparks fly and Matthew’s alpha ways come out as he claims Kallie as his own. It’s a cute story. You definitely see Cooper’s influence on Matthew.45
Don’t waste your time. Zero character development, elementary dialogue, huge holes in the plot. Also, I personally don’t like it when the H doesn’t take no for an answer and the h is ok with it. That type of behavior isn’t “romance” or a man being “alpha”. It’s wrong and we, as readers, have a responsibility to speak out against it.15
The story of Matthew and Karrie with all its ups and downs is great! I could do with a little less language but all in all a great book.55
