Book Reviews

Everyone in family bought it5 star

I read this and gave it to my other family members who also read it and think it’s a great read55

Whole lot of nothing1 star

I have NEVER left a review but felt I should. Money mag recommended this book, so I thought it would be helpful. Nothing further from the truth. It is FULL of fluff and explanations about WHY it’s so important to invest. However, I’m about 500 pages in and have yet to read any concrete advice. It’s a mind numbing assault of positivity, with nothing more.15

Not worth the read1 star

This book is not worth reading. 5 pages of content, the rest filler.15

Good basic information3 star

Tony Robbins gathered good sources to present low cost ways to set up nest eggs through the stocks market. He drags out too long to get to the core information, in the styles of his talks. Websites that were referred in the book no longer work. Even the financial app site in his name is not on line.35

Good Read5 star

Great book! Enjoyable to read and easy to understand. A good guide how to make the most of your savings and how to make the most of your life! Thank you Tony.55

Tony does not master this book2 star

After reading a glowing review of this book in an investment publication, I thought I would try reading my first Tony Robins book. It will be my last. The first 75-100 are not bad, but contain nothing you would not find anywhere else, and probably written more succinctly. There was nothing I had not heard or read before. What I had never been exposed to was the level of self promotion and patting his own back the Mr Robins insists on forcing the reader to wade through to get to this information. It was quite excruciating. I stopped reading midway through the 2nd chapter as I found myself less and less elightened and increasingly annoyed.25

Not good2 star

Let me start off by saying that I enjoyed this book in the beginning as Tony did a good job of explains fees etc. there are some pushes along the way to use certain companies that Tony is associated with. BUT the worst part is that the book is all based on using a fiduciary so you don't get ripped off by a brokerage firm. I live in Orlando and the 6 fiduciary services listed all needed a minimum of $600000 to 1 million to start. Really? I do pretty well for myself and between my wife and I we make around $160000 a year and have about $150000 to invest with a fiduciary. Sorry that is not enough. One firm offered to talk with us for a fee of $3500 not including any work that they would do for us. So after spending all this time reading this book guess what? I have to sign up with a firm anyway to get the advice I need. We are going with Edward jones based on reviews for best service. So my point is, how many people will this book really help? Tony talks a lot about people with low income just starting out but at the end if the day the book will not help the average American. I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 only for the fact that I did learn about all the fees that are out there. You also will read a lot of recommendations from Tony to invest in vanguard funds but do your research as these do not perform as well as companies such as t Rowe price. The fees may be higher with t Rowe price but the performance will more than make up for it. My final word for this book is no matter who you go with it is never to early to start planning for your future.25

Loved the book!5 star

The book is a little lengthy, but just power through it and you’ll be glad you did. Very insightful - I learned some great strategies that I have already put to use. Thankful that Tony took the 4 years to put this together!!!55

Direct, knowledgeable & inspiring5 star

Not a math whiz? Not a statistical genius? GOOD! This book not only opens your eyes. It opens your world! It is a journey for yourself into the world of knowledgeable investing. Tony is the cartographer. Drawing you a plain map akin to those featured in "Dora the Explorer." ("Trees, Bridge, Magic Mountain") Along the way he inspires you and accelerates your thinking about life itself. Such a great book. Thanks Tony. Listen to the Tim Ferriss podcast episode with him on it for more.55
