She needs help fast or risk missing the date of their grand opening and being in debt to her four older brothers.

Drifter Dalton O'Brien doesn't mind giving Jazz a hand, knowing once the job was complete he'd be on his way. But he enjoys spending time with her, more than he should. When vandalism escalates into danger, Dalton is determined to keep Jazz safe. Can he let go of the ghosts in his past long enough to embrace the future?

Great Read!5 star

"To Love" is Laura Scott's sweet story about Jazz, a young woman who is fixing up her grandmother's property, to turn it into a "Bed and Breakfast" location. In addition to the demands of restoring the property, she is faced with recurring vandalism, without a clue as to who it is, or what is their motive. Out of the blue, a drifter named Dalton shows up in her life. Going on her gut intuition, she offers him a job as her handyman in the refurbishing project. It is win-win for both of them, or is it? He is trying to flee his former life, because he blames himself for the death of his wife and child. Meanwhile, Jazz is trying to forget the engagement that she broke when she realized the true nature of her fiance, as well as that of their relationship. Will Dalton and Jazz be able to heal from their respective pain? Will they get the "Bed and Breakfast" up and running? Will the police take her vandalism seriously and find the culprits? Will Dalton move on as is his new habit, or will he stick around and help Jazz, providing a good job for him and a stable friendship for them both? (Or more?) Good character development and writing. I will not give away spoilers, but I enjoyed this story and will be checking out more of Scott's books.55

Sweet and heartwarming, yet a little slow3 star

To Love is a clean and sweet story about second chances and starting over. It is the tale of Jazzlyn, a sweet, determined and generous woman and Dalton, a gifted, caring and wounded individual. After leaving her previous career as a realtor, Jazz is renovating her grandparents’s lake house and planning to open a B&B with her twin sister, who is also in search of a new beginning after an abusive marriage and a nasty divorce. Dalton has left his life and his home behind after the tragic death of his wife and baby son. Devastated, he hasn’t yet found a way to overcome his grief, and spends his time drifting from place to place, living off of odd jobs. When someone tries to sabotage Jazz's project, Dalton steps up to help while Jazz, perceiving his internal struggle, tries to make him face his past and regain ownership of his life. Jazz and Dalton’s emotional journey is sweet and captivating, in tune with the cozy and delicate atmosphere pervading the book. Even if the storyline is at times a little slow, To Love is an enjoyable novel, with lively and captivating characters that give the reader the feeling of being immersed in the relaxing environment of a peaceful lakeside vacation I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Opinions and comments are solely my own.35
