No one in Sinful liked Pansy Arceneaux, but who hated her enough to kill her?
When aspiring actress Pansy Arceneaux returns to Sinful, Louisiana, to head up the beauty pageant portion of the Summer Festival, CIA assassin Fortune Redding knows she’s in for trouble. Her undercover identity as a former beauty queen makes Fortune the perfect choice to chair the event with Pansy, but Pansy’s abrasive personality makes it impossible to get through a single rehearsal without a fight.
When Pansy turns up dead, Fortune is the prime suspect.
Armed with only her wits and two conniving seniors referred to locally as The Geritol Mafia, Fortune launches an investigation to find the real killer before her cover is blown.
I have been reading the books in order and I’m about to open book #3. These are easy reads but they’re fun cozy noir mysteries with the same crew that will have you cackling away. I’m more of a true crime or thriller, mystery person but this cozy mystery series is too cute and it’s really good.55
Haven’t laughed at a book like this since Stephanie Plum. Already purchased the next one and can’t wait to read!55
At several times during my read, I had to laugh out loud at the antics of the group of Louisiana ladies determined to help a friend being accused of murder.55

Jana Deleon delivers again and again. Her books are delightfully funny and a good mystery all in one. I highly recommend her books!55
I love the books it this series! The mysteries are well written and there are some twists. I enjoy Fortune, Gertie, Ida Belle, Walter, Carter and Amy! The antics of Gertie and Ida Belle have me laughing because Carter when he catches them knows there is something going on but hard to prove. I highly recommend this book and the series as the mystery will keep your attention and the humor just adds to it!!55
Love these books55
Often, most pages were funny to while reading laughing so loud I bookmarked the page and closed my iPad mini before I would drop it! The plot, characters and even the baddies were authentic and some fooled me when a not too nice person was actually a good 'guy'. I grew up in a small southern town and all the southern 'cultural manners' were 100% spot on! I'm getting the other books, can hardly wait to read Miss Fortune, PS I love Puns!55
