A scene taken straight from Rob Lowe's New York Times bestselling memoir, Stories I Only Tell My Friends, a wryly funny and surprisingly moving account of an extraordinary life lived almost entirely in the public eye.
In Socs and Greasers, Lowe tells us what it was like to work on the set of The Outsiders, a film that helped launch the careers of many of today's biggest stars, including Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze, Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, Ralph Macchio, C. Thomas Howell, and Rob Lowe himself.
It's stupid he is just trying to get money like go make something creative15
This book was really cool, because it's an excellent view on the life of a movie star!55
This wasn't enough to make me want to read the rest of the book, but still fun to learn about a critical and accomplishing moment in lowe's life.35
A fascinating industry, film, is made more alluring through Mr Lowe's views and perspective on relationships, the art, the business and the culture of the entertainment industry. The Outsiders remains a beloved classic book and film. A page turner that was read in one sitting. Highly recommend.45
In the tale our friend Rob Lowe other wise know from the movie "The Outsides" as Sodapop Curtis gives his story on the shooting and filming of the movie and tell the story of how the greasers actually became the greasers and how perhaps the greatest movie ever made came to be55
I enjoyed the book very much. The Outsiders is my all time favorite book and by the time I was 20, had read it maybe 20 times. I thought the acting in the movie was great by all, but was very disappointed by the movie itself. It was so disjointed and didn't flow at all. The over-all vision was superb and could have been a masterpiece. Sounds like too many scenes were cut.55
This is so exciting. Just knowing the secret life we all wondered about when we read Teen Beat magazine. Now, having it co firmed.45
Very entertaining! This excerpt is tempting me to buy the entire book.35
I love Rob Lowe and the whole gang of teen idols in the Outsiders. From Leaf Garret to Patrick Swayze, they still can catch me off guard with a fluttering of my heart. So to read this short was really enjoyable. Experiencing the behind the scenes antics through Rob Lowes eyes was great. The reason I only gave it three stars, is because I wanted more, and it was a short read. But if you are a fan of anything associated with the Outsiders, or just Rob Lowe, or the business in general, I think you will enjoy this as much as I did.35
LOVE IT!!!!!55
