The Den (Book #1 in the Vampire's Witch Saga)

The Den (Book #1 in the Vampire's Witch Saga) Summary

THE DEN was inspired by actual events and their resulting, recurring nightmares.

Is it possible to run away from yourself?  No.  Skyla Jane Judge should know.

Fresh on the heels of a breakup and college graduation, Skyla Jane Judge feels an inexplicable urge to accompany an attractive stranger on a road trip from New York to New Orleans. Maybe it has something to do with what a psychic has told her about a past life. Maybe some old friends stuck between lives are waiting for her there.

Whatever the case, she gives in to the lure of Louisiana’s voodoo country and doesn’t look back. Longing for change, she uncovers a “den” beneath the haunted cobblestone streets of the French Quarter and, in the company of vampires, begins to discover her true self.

Skyla embarks on a journey to self-awareness that ultimately uncovers a secret ceremonial path to love and eternal enlightenment.  Though change is what she wanted, is she ready for the irrevocable change her “new” friends offer her?

THE DEN (47,000 words) is Book #1 of The Vampire’s Witch Saga. Books #2 (IN THE BLOOD) and #3 (THE SEVENTH DAY) in the series are also available for sale.

Boring don’t waste your time3 star

The story had no climax, had a bad story line, and was a waste of the reader and the writers time. This story also said “based on true events” but I wasn’t even sure what events were true and what events were fictional.35

Double space3 star

I'd normally give this free book a 4, but one of my pet peeves is double spaced books. You are essentially getting half the pages than stated (I can never keep track of word counts). It isn't so awful for free books, but once you start paying for them, it's a bit slimy "used car salesmen tactics" for me.35

Surprising2 star

This book has a great plot, and very original story. It’s very in expected how the events play out if you are not aware of some of the New Orléans lore. However, I find that the beginning of the book could be developed a bit better as it is hard to follow at first. Also the romance between two of the characters seem off, but this may be set up for the sequel to reveal new things. Overall it’s an okay book if you looking for something unexpected!25

Should be titled “Vampire Sexual Assault 101”1 star

Believe me I’m not a prude and love a hot steamy sex novel but this was straight up boring Vampire Sexual assault. Poorly written, no imagination, I can’t believe this made it to print.15

The Den Book #1 by Jennifer Abrahams5 star

What an excellent journey to participate in with wonderful characters to keep you interested during the intriguing passage. It was a popcorn moment to savor a hot snack while being entertained reading into the early hours of the morning. KSW55

Weak1 star

This book is poorly written and has a boring story line. Don't bother reading. It's a shame as it looked interesting.15

Underwhelming and disappointing1 star

It was hard to keep up with which characters internal monologue you are reading. The book was a huge build up to... Nothing. I'm thankful it was a short and free book. I won't be bothering with the rest of the series.15
