Pretty Killer

Pretty Killer Summary

Revenge is served.

Twelve people bound by a secret arrive for an exclusive dinner only to find that the other guests are familiar in the most troubling of ways.

Ella Boyer isn't looking forward to attending the Bayshore alumni dinner with her husband, Noah. There aren't enough pills in the world to numb her fears of seeing her classmates again… especially after what she did all those years ago.

Her sorority sister Heidi Blanchard, equally guilty, will be at the same exclusive restaurant that night. In the aftermath of their secret shame, Heidi's turned lying into a sport and has lost her compass for truth. She's there for a job … or so she thinks.

Bindi Bridges, former guidance counselor at Bayshore, has no idea about the alumni dinner or Heidi's job offer. She's at Crave to learn who her husband's been sleeping with, tipped by an unknown source.

Mason Pace is there to meet a headhunter. His life is about to turn around — a relief, after the horror that happened eleven years ago.

Seven others -- each seeking their own redemption and hiding their own sordid sins -- are just as ignorant of the sinister purpose behind this elegant event.

Their host? A Hollywood star with glamour to spare and all the money in the world to spend on that most useful of hobbies: revenge and the extraction of secrets.

The only guest not in attendance is the one who deserves to be there most: Casey Davis.

What happened to Casey? And who's to blame?

Pretty Killer is Agatha Christie for the modern age. It's Truant & King at their duplicitous best, weaving a tale with more layers than stratified ground in which a murderer digs a stone-cold grave … proving that revenge isn't always best when it's cold — and sizzles when it's piping hot.

Warning:Pretty Killeris a tense psychological thriller that includes adult language and situations. While it is all within the context of the story, some readers may find this content offensive. Intended for mature audiences.

Fantastic, make it a movie!5 star

What a fantastic book! I love a good twist at the end! This would be a phenomenal movie…I pictured Morena Baccarin as Harper during the entire read…she has the perfect calm voice for the character. Great book!55

Excellent novel. The writing of this novel was very intriguing and kept the reader hooked. The twists and turns of this novel kept you guessing. I could not put this book down. I was completely surprised at the end. I thought the person who murdered Simon was Noah, but the surprise at the end was fabulous. Highly recommend reading this novel. Will reread just for pure enjoyment.55

I hate books that jump between past and present. This one was so farfetched in trapping guests in a restaurant and playing one off another. Lots of repeat scenarios. Bad guys stopping exits. It’s like a little mafia thrown in a Miss Marple senario.15

Killer story!5 star

What if the secrets you kept came back to haunt you? 12 dinner guests, all invited to the same dinner party, all for very different reasons......or so they were led to believe. Pretty killers is a fast paced thriller about how even the decisions we make as far back as high school, can resurface in our adult lives. Never once considering how actions can affect everything and everyone around them, the guests at this particular get together are about to find out just that. It starts the same as you would imagine, couples and singles who are getting ready to go out are preparing. Getting dressed up, putting on pretentious airs to impress the people they couldn’t stand in school. Each one with the assumption that they’ve done so much better than their peers. Once there, they come to realize that none of them are any better than the others. Everyone has skeletons in their closet they don’t want anyone to discover. The doors are locked, there is no escape from each other, or their self loathing. 12 place settings... 12 sealed envelopes... Their gracious host arrives. Not one of them recognizes her, nor has any idea that she knows them, almost better than they know themselves. As she invites them to eat, some guests ask if they can leave. “Of course you can, you will have to address the matter of your envelope first however”. What could the mysterious envelopes contain? Secrets, much like any weapon, can harm, destroy, and in extreme cases kill.55
