Leoron of Alera returns home from the Hive wars determined to protect the capital city—and last bastion of a vanished Queen's reign—from civil war. Loyal to the bone, Leo answers the call from Prime Nial and vows to protect at any cost three unknown females arriving from Earth.
But the simple soldier is unprepared for the shock of desire that brings him to his knees at first sight of Trinity Jones. Nothing makes sense as Leo fights friend and foe alike, and discovers the woman stealing his heart has a destiny beyond anything he could have imagined.

Another great book by Grace. Trinity meets her mate all while embarking on an adventure to her native land to find her mom and reclaim her throne. Is Leo worthy of Trinity? Will she find her mother in time or will it be too late? I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.55
Verified ARC Reader Ascension Saga by Robin Manor The review covers the books from the prelude thru book 2. So far the whole Ascension Saga has been riveting and each book in the series becomes more awesome as the plots evolve and thicken. Overall this is an amazing adventure of a Queen forced to flee her planet and seek refuge on earth. Here she saves her first daughter - The True Princess “Trinity”, then remarries and gives birth to her two half sister twins, now also princesses. The Queen has been abducted from earth and it is time for the Princesses to return to their planet of Alana. Along the way Trinity is sent a select elite warrior ,Leo, to guard her and who of course becomes her destined very hot mate/protector. It’s wonderful how many of the characters and worlds from the other books in the Interstellar Bride Series are woven into the plot and storylines. This expands the whole overall world building and enhances the saga immensely. I am loving this series despite the fact that these are a series of pretty short novellas with frustrating cliffhangers, but they are so worth the ride! Trinity is an Aleran living on Earth with her mother and half-sisters. Her mother is the hidden Queen of Alera who is kidnapped when Trinity inadvertently reveals her whereabouts. Trinity, Destiny and Faith go to Alera incognito to find their mother, but are attacked by assassins. Saved by Leo, a soldier sent to protect them, they continue their mission. This is a fast fun read with a surprising amount of plot set up in a short time. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.55
I really enjoyed this change of pace. I like how this is broken down into parts too. I love a new planet coming into the series. I liked the prequel that set the tone for the new twist of the plot line. And oh dear lord Leo... WOW. He was so freaking sexy! The build between him and Trinity was electric. I don’t want to ruin anything but I really liked Leo’s “special circumstance” that he was just for her, only for her. When they finally come together it is explosive. Could you even imagine a man like that? *whew*. Eager to see where we go in part 2.45
Well plotted, with developed characters who have believable feelings, quirky humor, and fun personalities. There were some steamy scenes but even more action. Overall, I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about the sisters. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.45

Grace Goodwin's new novella, the Ascension Saga Book I is exactly what it sounds like - the first installment of a serial. The author does some fine world-building in many of her Coalition Fighter SF romances, but the world of Alera is hardly set up at all, with the exception of a light beacon at a force-field shrouded citadel open only to royals. The culture is likewise a large question mark. All we know is that Aleran males are only sexually awakened and receptive to their true mates, and that the Queen who rules the planet is alive but has been MIA for thirty years, leaving her planet's people in chaos and civil war. All we know about the heroine, Trinity, is that she ands her two younger sisters are aware that they're Aleran, that their mother the Queen has been kidnapped from Earth, and they're volunteering as Interstellar Brides in order to get to Alera undercover. Trinity is in the grip of some hormone-induced super-heat, and will go bonkers unless an Aleran male can satisfy her. Her escort and trusted Coalition Fighter protector, Leo, is in charge of keeping her safe. Guess who turns out to be her mate? Honestly, there's not much going on in this book but sex, and while it's frequent and hot, it isn't enough to make this into a real story. Gotta read the next installment for that.
