In exchange for a vial of dragon’s blood to save her brother’s life, Melanie Hall offers herself up as a sacrifice to one of the British dragon-shifter clans. Being a sacrifice means signing a contract to live with the dragon-shifters for six months to try to conceive a child. Her assigned dragonman, however, is anything but easy. He’s tall, broody, and alpha to the core. There’s only one problem—he hates humans.
Due to human dragon hunters killing his mother, Tristan MacLeod despises humans. Unfortunately, his clan is in desperate need of offspring to repopulate their numbers and it’s his turn to service a human female. Despite his plans to have sex with her and walk away, his inner dragon has other ideas. The curvy human female tempts his inner beast like no other.
NOTE: This is the entire first story of the Stonefire Dragons, complete with a HEA and no cliffhangers.

This books keeps you wondering “what if”...55
Would have liked a better ending.45
Loved the book. One of the best dragon romances I’ve read.55
I thought the concept was really cool and liked that the dragon was a separate entity that would talk to him in his head. The “unpeeled potato” metaphor killed it for me though.25
First I would like to say, I loved the romantic aspect of Mel and Tristan’s relationship. However, the book had a lot of holes in the story that needed to be filled. 1. What happened to Melanie’s brother? Did the dose of blood help him out? I know it says he got out of the hospital, but did he get better 7 months later or is he still sick? 2. Did Melanie ever write that book and publish it? If so, what happened? 3. What happened to Caitriona’s baby? Who took care of the baby after Neil was banished? I probably have a ton more questions I could ask, but those are at the forefront of my brain. Like I said the book was good. I just felt that it had the potential to be great.25
I really liked the dragons internal dialogue, it was cute.45
Just as the title indicates, I was really happy with this book. I used to be a big reader when I was younger and I’ve only now (due to COVID-19) been reading more and more. Not only was there hot steamy romantic moments, there was a wonderfully crafted story with many hilarious and incredibly relatable characters. Jessie Donovan is a phenomenal writer. 10/10 would definitely buy the rest of the series of Stonefire Dragons.55
