Excellent read5 star

Winter’s Secret is Lyn Cote's suspenseful mystery about a serial burglar who preys on vulnerable elderly people during a very cold and snowy Winter. In fact, the criminal has been dubbed the Snowmobile Burglar. A skilled nurse, Wendy, must work with Sheriff Rodd in order to acquire clues, and protect her elderly patients, until the complicated case is solved. Will they be able to put aside the tension in their relationship for the sake of the victims, and will they be able to even become friends - or more? With my many years as a Victim Advocate in a prosecutor's office, I appreciate the inclusion of the perspective of the innocent, vulnerable VICTIMS and how the vicrtimization affects their lives, emotions and even physical health. Lyn Cote does a great job of developing characters and relationships, and also isn't preachy - which is especially a blessing at this time of political inundation.. The only issue about which I disagreeed with was Wendy's perception of the confrontation of a believer's continuing evil deeds and words, and sowing of division. I do not see that as "allowing evil" in; the evil was the woman's continuing hateful behavior. Confronation is sometimes necessary. In fact, most people will never change if not confronted. However, there are Biblical principles (Matthew 18, Galatians 6) to follow when one does this, but it actually is a means of helping the straying person (James 5)! At any rate, I will definitely be looking for more books by Cote in the near future.55

A great read5 star

I really enjoyed reading this book. The characters were well developed and the story was interesting and fun to read. I like that it is a clean mystery and romance story. I find that the references about God and Bible quotes can help me in my own Christian journey, especially when I come across a verse that has helped me in the past. It never hurts to be reminded of God’s love for us and best of all I now have a new author to read and follow.55

Nice read but too heavy on the religion4 star

A clean read and overall good story. However, the continuous religious references became daunting and preachy.45
