Paper Princess

Paper Princess Summary

“This generation’s Cruel Intentions.” Jennifer L. Armentrout, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author

From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.

These Royals will ruin you…

Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.

Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.

Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.

He might be right.

Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.

Q: Is this really a YA?

We recommend this for young adult readers, age 17 and up. We think it’s a book that will appeal to older teens and those adults who are in touch with their inner teen, like us.

Q: Is there a cliffhanger? I’ve heard there’s an awful cliffhanger! Why’d you write a cliffhanger?

We promise that we didn’t set out to write a cliffhanger, but Paper Princess does end in one. The good news is that the next book is up for pre-sale and it will be released July 25, 2016.

Book Reviews

Paper princess5 star

From the selection to this, I truly had no idea what this book was going to be about and I’ve fallen in love. The twists and turns and dramatic ending will eat you alive. In tears after reading and I don’t think I’ll ever recover.55

Problematic and abusive😵‍💫1 star

The main character, appears to be the brain child of two authors who wanted to try and create a strong female protagonist but failed. The way they have the brothers speak to and about her is completely off-the-wall and inappropriate, the premise comes off as unbelievable to me. The exploration of sexuality is not portrayed realistically for the age. What’s more, these authors glamorize sexual situations by trying to portray them at a teenage level And in a highly pornographic, gratuitous way. It doesn’t work. I’m all for a steamy sex scene in new adult level books— or even within the right context,YA books. But a lot of the stuff in this whole series is just extraneous, poorly written, and the tropes can be seen from a mile away. I don’t usually review books, and I started out really liking this series. But, too many things jumped out at me as unhealthy. The element of abuse I relationships being shown as OK/normal, as well as the way the female lead character is written— She is still OK with the main brother treating her like she’s a piece of crap, just because he’s supposedly hot and she wants to bone him. This is a romance series that should be left extinct. Try Christina Lauren if you want a steamy romance writer with class, great sex scenes, and quality story content. Also, just for side comment, I actually emailed the authors and asked by they portrayed their character the way they did but have yet to receive reply back. And I’ve read this first book about two or three times. The abuse and just the unhealthy elements in the relationship between her and read, become more and more blatant with the second read. It’s not realistic, and I feel like most girls would not tolerate any guy talking to them the way the male MC talks to the female protagonist.15

Predictable and Problematic1 star

This is essentially a Wattpad book. It had potential but it was too weird and problematic for my taste. Also not very realistic.15
