In 2010, an alien virus nearly wiped out the human race. A thousand years later, mankind has recovered and ventured into space. There has been no sign of the aliens since. Humanity remains confined to the Solar System.
All that is about to change.
Mazzy Webber is a lowly janitor on a third-rate cargo ship. Deeply in debt, when his captain decides to turn pirate, he leaps at the chance.
A modern Robin Hood—minus the part where he gives back to the poor—Webber lays down a few ground rules. No attacking manned ships, and no stealing from anyone who can't afford it. Within months, he and the crew are out of debt. Their next target will make them rich.
But the attack goes all wrong. The target's cargo could be the death of them—or it could be the key to reaching the stars.

From the author of the bestselling BREAKERS novels, OUTLAW is the first book in a new series of piracy, conspiracy, and space's deadliest janitor.
Not hard science fiction, but an enjoyable romp across the solar system. My “willing suspension of disbelief” was a bit stretched with the unlimited rocket fuel, antigravity, evil (but absent) aliens and space pirates, but the plot, action and especially the character development kept me reading. The story wrapped up nicely, but left LOTS of scope for future conflicts. No one is completely good or bad, and most actions have some justification, so the story stays coherent. The lack of science & engineering background bothers me at times, mainly because the story is set in the not-too-distant future, but I’m old school SF. Not the galaxy-spanning far-future space opera of Doc E.E. Smith, but certainly worth a look.45
Super interesting! The end for me was a bit confusing. Great book.55
Great book, great characters. It is like game of thrones though. With his books, you never know who will die or when. It kind of makes them more exciting!55
I love the characters. They have been carefully curated.55
Fast paced sci-fi fantasy with relatable characters.55
I was impressed with the universe and characters in this book. Well thought out science and grammar and punctuation usage was great. I’m going to follow this author for a bit.. starting now.55
Great journey to solve mankind’s newest mystery in a world ravaged by a virus released by an alien invasion. Well written book that takes the reader on a journey.55
While this work blurs the line between sci-fi and fantasy a bit more than I care for, the story line is well done. The main characters are believable, if not fleshed-out significantly. It’s ALL the story line. For a casual, escape read it was fun. I recommend it for some time away from the realities of a young 21st century.55
Interesting, engaging future space story.45
Exciting introduction to an interesting cast of characters.a good read by itself but can’t wait to see what happens next.55
